Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory assessments and deliver appropriate treatments for acute care patients
• Operate and manage oxygen systems, nebulizers, suction equipment, CPAP and BiPAP devices safely and effectively
• Respond to respiratory emergencies and participate in codes using ACLS/PALS protocols
• Document treatments, patient progress and ventilator management in Meditech in a timely, accurate way
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and equipment use to support recovery and discharge readiness
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, ensuring infection control and proper functioning

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications - ABSOLUTE MUST
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, critical care environments
• Meditech EMR experience is preferred
• ICU experience is a plus
• State respiratory licensure as required or ability to become licensed in state of assignment

Knowledge & Skills

• Adult and pediatric respiratory assessment and treatment
• Oxygen therapy, nebulizer therapy and airway suction techniques
• CPAP and BiPAP setup and management
• Ventilator basics and troubleshooting for acute care patients
• Proficient documentation in Meditech or similar EMR systems
• Strong critical thinking, team communication and patient advocacy skills
