Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for a busy 11-bed ER unit, prioritizing patient safety and outcomes
• Perform ESI triage to rapidly assess and prioritize incoming patients
• Assist with critical procedures such as splinting, chest tube support, central line care and lumbar punctures
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate timely treatment plans
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Meditech
• Deliver an exceptional patient experience using AIDET and communication boards to keep patients and families informed
• Float to other areas as needed and adapt quickly to changing unit needs

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license required (temporary licenses will not be accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC required; PALS or ENPC required
• At least 2.5 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
• Excellent time management and clinical prioritization skills
• Comfort with floating and working in a dynamic, fast-paced ER environment

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in ESI triage and emergency clinical workflows
• Experience with Meditech documentation and EDM preferred
• Familiarity with STEMI and stroke processes and rapid response protocols
• Skilled in splinting, basic procedural assistance and critical care support
• Strong patient communication skills, including AIDET and use of communication boards
• Ability to work with typical ED patient ratios (e.g., 1:4) and fast-paced staffing models
