Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, rotating schedule that includes weekends (schedules set in 4-week increments; full-time staff are scheduled for 4 weekend shifts per month)

Candidate Pay Rate: $48 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on Med Surg and Ortho units
• Manage an assigned patient load efficiently and safely, maintaining typical patient ratios (usually 6:1)
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech and communicate changes to the care team
• Collaborate with PCTs, unit secretaries and other team members to deliver coordinated care
• Perform nursing assessments, administer medications and treatments according to unit protocols
• Support bedside procedures when required and assist MDs and advanced staff as needed
• Float to other inpatient areas (CCU, ED) and carry out assigned tasks to support unit needs

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) credential (listed as primary skill)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (as listed)
• BLS certification required
• Comfortable working Med Surg and Ortho patients and managing typical 6:1 ratios
• Positive attitude, strong teamwork skills and a commitment to patient-centered care

Knowledge & Skills

• Meditech documentation system experience
• Med Surg and Ortho clinical knowledge
• Strong patient assessment and care planning skills
• Ability to collaborate with PCTs and unit staff effectively
• Familiarity with unit staffing and floating to other inpatient areas
