Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient acuity and manage ED and inpatient hold assignments to keep patient flow moving
• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care during 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM shifts
• Collaborate with ED and inpatient teams to coordinate transfers, dispositions, and appropriate nursing ratios
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and participate in shift handoffs
• Complete required Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain high standards
• Advocate for patients and families with clear communication and compassionate care
• Follow infection control, fit-testing, vaccination and drug-screening requirements as mandated

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with License/Certificate Verification required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Meeting personal health requirements (fit test, respirator eval, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, influenza, TB testing, varicella, physical, 10-panel drug screen)
• Ability to work rotating every-other-week day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM), 36 hours per week

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient acuity assessment and prioritization
• Working knowledge of nursing ratios and managing ED/inpatient hold loads
• Experience with Emergency Department nursing workflows and inpatient holds
• Proficiency in BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC processes
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and team collaboration skills
• Familiarity with competency testing and skills checklists (Trinity-specific)
