Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile field and instrument setup for surgical procedures
• Anticipate surgeon needs and hand instruments and supplies efficiently
• Perform surgical counts and document instrument, sponge, and needle usage
• Assist the surgical team with gowning, gloving, and patient positioning
• Ensure strict adherence to infection control and sterile technique standards
• Participate in competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• License/Certificate verification as part of onboarding
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Required pre-employment health screenings: fit test, 10-panel drug screen, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, influenza vaccine, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Varicella, and a physical/health statement

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
• Proficient in operating room setup and case preparation
• Accurate surgical counting and attention to detail
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced OR environments
• Ability to follow protocols for infection control and patient safety
