Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a 28-bed PCU/IMCU with a cardiac population
Monitor cardiac telemetry and promptly recognize and escalate arrhythmias and other changes in condition
Administer and titrate inotropes and vasopressors such as milrinone and dobutamine according to protocols
Provide care for STEMI, NSTEMI, and post-cardiothoracic surgery patients with vigilance and clinical judgment
Collaborate with cardiology and surgical teams to coordinate timely, effective care
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all demographic info and badge-appropriate photo requirements are completed

Qualifications

Documented Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience in work history, minimum 2 years in a similarly sized facility
Current BLS certification required
Current ACLS certification required
Proven experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring and cardiac drip management (milrinone, dobutamine, vasopressors)

Knowledge & Skills

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) clinical skills
Cardiac telemetry interpretation and monitoring
Competence with inotropes and vasopressors and their hemodynamic impacts
Experience caring for STEMI, NSTEMI, and cardiothoracic surgery patients
Ability to manage typical PCU ratios (1:3-4) and adjust care priorities as acuity changes
