Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to oncology and women’s surgical patients
• Administer medications and infusions safely and accurately, following facility protocols
• Monitor and document patient status in Cerner, ensuring clear communication across the team
• Perform assessments, symptom management, and timely interventions to optimize outcomes
• Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, HUCs, and the interdisciplinary team for coordinated care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Support unit workflows and assist with procedures such as thoracentesis or pelvic exams as needed
• Act as a dependable team member on nights and during scheduled weekend coverage

Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• CNA license noted in hiring profile where applicable
• Current BLS certification required
• Chemo certification preferred (candidates with this will be considered first)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical nursing experience (as listed)
• Comfortable using Cerner EMR and standard med-surg/oncology equipment
• Team player attitude with willingness to learn and adapt on night shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• Oncology nursing principles and symptom management
• Women’s surgical familiarity and occasional pelvic exam support
• Med-surg nursing skills and safe medication administration
• Experience with Cerner for documentation and charting
• Ability to manage 1:4 to 1:5 patient ratios with strong prioritization
• IV/infusion pump competence and basic procedural support
• Clear communication and collaboration within interdisciplinary teams
• Strong clinical assessment, triage, and patient education skills
