Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in the acute care hospital setting and create individualized, evidence-based care plans
• Deliver hands-on treatments and therapeutic interventions to improve function and mobility
• Use and supervise safe operation of patient lifting equipment (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove) and mobility aids
• Coordinate and supervise therapeutic care with PTAs, OTs, rehab techs and interdisciplinary teams
• Document assessments, plans and progress clearly and promptly in Cerner PowerChart
• Communicate evaluation results and care plans effectively with patients, families and the care team to support recovery

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (required)
• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Experience: 2 years (as listed) with acute care experience preferred (job notes reference at least 1 year acute care preferred)
• Comfort and competency with orthopedics, neurology and cardiopulmonary patient care
• Ability to work 9–10 hour day shifts including weekend coverage (Fri–Mon)

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in patient evaluation and individualized care planning
• Experience with Cerner PowerChart documentation
• Skilled using patient lifting equipment (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove) and safe transfer techniques
• Knowledge of acute care procedures and rehab diagnoses
• Strong interdisciplinary communication and patient/family education skills
• Familiarity with orthopedics, neurology and cardiopulmonary therapy approaches
