Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based oncology nursing care to surgical and medical patients
• Manage complex overnight patient assignments, prioritizing safety and comfort
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, including chemotherapy protocols when certified
• Monitor patient status, interpret clinical data, and escalate concerns to the care team
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues to coordinate discharge planning and continuity of care
• Document care in Cerner thoroughly and timely to support patient outcomes
• Support unit staffing needs on nights and assist with occasional floating to med-surgical areas

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (as listed)
• Oncology nursing experience or med-surgical background preferred
• Chemo Certification is a nice-to-have and will be considered favorably
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and covering scheduled weekend requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong oncology and med-surgical clinical knowledge
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR for documentation and order management
• Ability to manage patient ratios around 1:4 or 1:5 with sound clinical judgment
• Skills in common unit procedures such as pelvic exams, echo support, and thoracentesis
• Team-player attitude, excellent communication, and adaptability on nights
