Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily MLS lab operations across all areas, including Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Blood Bank and Anatomical Pathology
• Conduct QC review and maintain validation procedures to ensure accurate, reliable results
• Drive CAP regulatory readiness and maintain compliance with lab standards
• Oversee staffing tasks such as scheduling, productivity review and performance management
• Interview, onboard and mentor new laboratory staff to build a strong team
• Provide clinical lab oversight and phlebotomy supervision as needed (phlebotomy performance not required)
• Manage and optimize LIS workflows using EPIC Beaker and related EMR/charting systems
• Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation including Abbott Alinity, Immucor ECHO and Sysmex platforms

Qualifications

• MLT or MT certification required — ASCP or AMT preferred
• Minimum 4 years of relevant laboratory experience, including prior lab manager or supervisory experience
• Generalist experience covering Hematology, Chemistry, Micro, Blood Bank and Anatomical Pathology
• Hands-on experience with EPIC Beaker or similar LIS
• Familiarity with Abbott Alinity, Immucor ECHO and Sysmex analyzers is a strong plus
• Proven experience with QC, validation procedures and CAP readiness
• Able to submit driver's license (radius requirement: within 60 miles) and be in-state for orientation week

Education

• MLT or MT certification via AMT or ASCP (required)
• Associate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent typically expected; Bachelor's not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep knowledge of clinical laboratory operations and regulatory requirements
• Strong quality control and validation skills
• Proficiency with EPIC Beaker and laboratory information systems
• Instrument knowledge: Abbott Alinity, Immucor ECHO, Sysmex XN3100/CA5100/CA2500
• Excellent communication, interviewing and onboarding skills
• Scheduling, productivity monitoring and team leadership
• Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail in a fast-paced acute care setting
