Roles & Responsibilities
- Screen and diagnose speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders with precision
- Provide expert treatment and professional consultations to improve patient outcomes
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and surgeons
- Ensure patients achieve functional improvements for safe discharge home or to other facilities
Qualifications
- Current Hawaii State license as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Current ASHA certification
- Current CPR BLS/HCP certification
- Completion of FEES course (within 6 months if not upon hire)
- Preferred: 1+ year acute care experience, MBS ImP, adult swallowing/communication/cognitive expertise
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required for licensure and ASHA certification)
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in diagnosing and treating speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders
- Skilled in adult swallowing evaluation and treatment
- Proficient in communication and cognitive evaluation and treatment
- Familiarity with FEES and MBS ImP procedures
