Roles & Responsibilities

Scrub in on life-saving surgeries from neonate to geriatric patients
Function independently within established protocols to keep the OR running smoothly
Handle unit tasks assigned by RN with precision and care
Apply sound judgment and diplomacy while maintaining patient confidentiality

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist
Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) specialty experience required
BCLS Certification
National Certification (NBSTSA-CST, NCCT-TS-C, or AST)

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (required for hires post-2009)

Knowledge & Skills

Scrub responsibilities across all age groups: neonate through geriatric
Ability to work independently within protocols
Competence in RN-assigned unit tasks
Proficient computer and keyboarding skills
Strong judgment, tact, and diplomacy
