Roles & Responsibilities

Perform initial triage and assessments for urgent care patients of all ages
Administer medications via multiple routes including IV push and infusion
Initiate and maintain IV access while monitoring patient response
Coordinate patient care and referrals across facilities
Educate patients on self-care and document their understanding
Maintain a safe environment with strict infection control
Respond to emergencies and participate in team improvement efforts

Qualifications

Current unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alaska or multi-state compact
2 years general nursing experience with at least 1 year in ambulatory or urgent care
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
Clinical Competency Assessment within 3 months of hire
High Risk Competency within 3 months and annually

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing qualified for NCLEX
High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

Customer service and recovery principles
Safety and infection control expertise
Clinic protocols for patient visits and procedures
Age-appropriate vital signs and clinical education
Critical thinking in the nursing process
Assessment prioritization and data collection
Multi-tasking time management and problem solving
