Roles & Responsibilities

Provide essential clinical support and meet educational needs of new employees, staff, and students
Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate educational activities including orientation and continuing education
Offer clinical guidance on complex patient care, medication administration, and treatment plans
Mentor nursing staff to enhance their clinical skills and serve as a practice resource
Act as a liaison between staff and leadership to communicate feedback effectively
Analyze patient data to identify practice gaps and develop targeted interventions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement evidence-based standards
Facilitate new clinical practices, protocols, and equipment training

Qualifications

Current unencumbered Registered Nurse License for Alaska
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Minimum 5 years experience as RN in acute care settings preferred
Clinical Competency Assessment - SEARHC
High Risk Competency - SEARHC

Education

Nursing degree required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Sound clinical practice standards and procedures
Managing acutely ill patients and medical equipment
Evidence-based practices and quality improvement
Safe medication administration
Various teaching methods for professionals, patients, and families
Comprehensive patient assessments
Specialized procedures
Patient education on conditions, medications, and discharge
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, EHR systems, and email
