Roles & Responsibilities

Accurately collect and document vital patient information to ensure seamless care
Prepare patients for exams, treatments, and minor procedures with precision
Perform specimen collection, Point of Care Testing, and radiology exams following protocols
Administer immunizations and injections as ordered to support patient health
Monitor patient conditions, report changes promptly, and provide attentive observation
Assist providers and clinic nurses to maintain smooth clinic flow and exceptional care
Cross-cover for peers to keep departments running efficiently and effectively

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR EMT III Current AK Certification OR Current AK Paramedic Certification OR Nursing Degree from accredited institution
Experience in a healthcare setting preferred

Education

High school diploma or GED required
Nursing Degree from an accredited institution can substitute for certifications

Knowledge & Skills

Clinic procedures for patient visits and treatments
Age-appropriate vital signs and behaviors
Life-saving procedures and medical terminology
Strong communication and customer service skills
Computer skills for medical databases and EMR systems
Operation of medical equipment like blood pressure cuffs, EKG machines, and defibrillators
Interpersonal and organizational skills to thrive in a team
