Roles & Responsibilities

Accurately perform echocardiogram studies including Transthoracic 2-D, M-Mode, Color-flow Doppler, Transesophageal, Exercise stress and pharmacological echocardiography to deliver vital diagnostic insights
Conduct other cardiac diagnostic studies like EKG, Holter monitoring and analysis, and Cardiac stress tests with precision
Utilize advanced equipment such as echocardiographs, cardiac stress systems, electrocardiographs, and Holter monitors to provide the best information for physicians
Assess hospital information systems for seamless scheduling, processing, and charging of studies
Implement infection control practices and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety
Provide preceptorship and clinical guidance to students from partnered colleges
Deliver age-specific care, especially for neonatal and pediatric patients, making a real difference in young lives

Qualifications

Registered Cardiac Sonographer certification
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Successful completion of certification program and/or two years hands-on experience with echocardiography
Preferred: Extensive experience in echocardiography studies in a hospital setting, including pediatric and neonatal echocardiography

Education

High School Diploma or GED
Preferred: Certificate Program in Cardiovascular Sonography

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in echocardiography, EKG, Holter monitoring, and Cardiac stress tests
Proficiency with echocardiographs, cardiac stress systems, electrocardiographs, and Holter monitors
Age-specific care for patients of all ages, including neonatal and pediatric
Infection control and aseptic techniques
