Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and manage ED and inpatient hold patients with strong clinical judgment
• Maintain safe nursing ratios and manage patient acuity on ED/inpatient holds
• Provide high-quality, compassionate care during overnight shifts
• Collaborate closely with physicians, case managers, and admitting teams to ensure smooth patient flow
• Perform specialty-specific competencies and maintain required skills documentation
• Communicate clearly with patients and families about status and care plans
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure with License/Certificate Verification (per facility requirements)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications (current)
• Experience caring for Emergency Department patients and managing ED/Inpatient holds
• Comfort managing patient acuity and nursing ratios in a high-volume ED environment
• Completion of Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist as required
• Meeting personal health requirements: fit test, immunizations, 10-panel drug screen, and health/physical clearance

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills for acute and holding patients
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients during high-acuity periods
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a multidisciplinary emergency setting
• Proficiency with documentation and adherence to licensing/certification requirements
• Familiarity with ED workflows, inpatient holds, and patient throughput processes
