Shift Type: Night, 3x 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM). Schedule may rotate to days or a combination of day/night depending on departmental needs; weekend shift assignments vary and schedules are reviewed every 4-week period.

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Float confidently between Oncology MS and PCU units to meet patient care needs
• Provide skilled medical-surgical and telemetry nursing including telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Deliver safe medication administration via Pyxis and maintain accurate EPIC documentation
• Manage IV therapy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Provide respiratory support including HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, oxygen therapy, ABG interpretation and tracheostomy care
• Support patient transitions for pre/post hemodialysis, feedings and other specialty procedures
• Ensure staff and patient safety in a locked corrections environment working with Corrections Officers
• Participate in rapid response/code teams and contribute to a culture of timely emergency response

Qualifications

• BLS certification required
• EPIC charting experience required
• ACLS and NIHSS are preferred but not required
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Minimum 2 years of experience (must meet requirement within the 3 most recent years) with at least 1 year of current specialty experience for clinical pass
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Comfort working in a secured corrections unit and collaborating with Corrections Officers

Knowledge & Skills

• Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing fundamentals
• Cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line/PICC care, and blood product administration
• Tracheostomy care and non-invasive airway management
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), CPAP/BiPAP management, and ABG interpretation
• Feeding tube care and pre/post hemodialysis support
• Experience with Pyxis medication systems and EPIC documentation
• Infection control, isolation precautions and working within secure/corrections settings
