Roles & Responsibilities

• Refill and maintain Pyxis medication machines accurately and on schedule
• Prepare and package unit-dose medications and first doses for patient care
• Perform IV sterile compounding and non-sterile compounding following protocols
• Assist the pharmacist with daily pharmacy operations and medication preparation
• Answer phones professionally and coordinate medication requests and clarifications
• Maintain and restock code blue trays and other emergency medication supplies
• Document work in the Meditech system and follow unit-specific policies and guidelines
• Support department goals for medication safety, accuracy and timely delivery

Qualifications

• Current, active MO pharmacy technician license in good standing (required)
• Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience (as listed)
• Experience with sterile and non-sterile compounding and unit-dose packaging
• Comfort working rotating day/evening shifts and weekends
• Familiarity with unit workflows and assisting pharmacists in a decentralized model

• Meditech documentation and charting
• IV sterile compounding best practices and safety
• Non-sterile compounding techniques
• Unit-dose packaging and inventory management
• Strong communication and phone-handling skills
