Location: Anchorage, AK

Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 4x10 Day shifts, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM; Schedule options: Sun/Mon/Thu/Fri or Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri; Some weekends required (approximately 2 weekend days per month). Shift type: Day
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations and develop individualized plans of care that help patients regain independence
- Perform assessments, reassessments, and document findings clearly and efficiently in Epic
- Provide hands-on therapy including adaptive equipment assessments, splinting, and functional training
- Educate patients and families to empower home carryover and long-term progress
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing, PT, SLP and the rehab team to drive coordinated patient outcomes
- Support patients across neurological and orthopedic diagnoses including stroke, TBI, SCI and amputee care
- Contribute to safe discharge planning and transition of care
- Maintain patient safety and injury prevention protocols during lift and transfer activities
Qualifications
- Active NBCOT certification required
- BLS certification required
- Alaska license required (pending licenses accepted but strong preference for Alaska license in hand)
- Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience; first-timers accepted
- Acute rehab facility experience required; IRF experience preferred
- Comfortable charting in Epic (charting experience preferred)
- Willing and able to work the posted schedules and approximately 2 weekend days per month
- Candidates must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)
Knowledge & Skills
- Assessment & Evaluation: FIM, cognitive assessments, functional capacity evaluations
- Plan of Care development, reassessments, and discharge planning
- Adaptive equipment assessment and training
- Splinting skills: dynamic, functional and static splints
- Modalities: TENS, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, biofeedback
- Wound care and lymphedema management, burn care familiarity
- Neurological and orthopedic rehab: CVA, TBI, SCI, Parkinson's disease, amputee care
- Patient and family education, lifting and transfer techniques, safety and injury prevention
- Experience with Epic charting and clear documentation practices
