Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient charts
- Assist with safe transfers, positioning, and mobility to reduce fall risk
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff
- Support patients' emotional needs and dignity through respectful communication
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver coordinated care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (state-approved)
- Valid state registry listing for CNAs as required
- Ability to work 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM night shifts and per-diem availability
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Prior experience in long-term care or similar clinical setting preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or obtainable
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care fundamentals and ADL assistance
- Accurate vital sign measurement and basic clinical observations
- Charting and basic electronic health record familiarity
- Infection control practices and patient safety procedures
- Time management and prioritization in a busy clinical environment
- Compassionate, patient-centered communication
