Certified Nursing Assistant
Location: Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem nights, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (night shift; days vary based on per-diem availability)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) to promote comfort and dignity
- Measure and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe patient transfers and mobility with proper technique and equipment
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
- Follow infection control protocols to keep patients and coworkers safe
- Communicate compassionately with patients and families, advocating for patient needs
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (valid in Pennsylvania) required
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtaining within facility timeframes
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in basic patient care and activities of daily living
- Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safe patient handling
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Teamwork, reliability, and strong observational abilities
- Compassionate bedside manner and respect for patient privacy
