Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist residents with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and feeding as needed
• Take and record vital signs, observe patients and promptly report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and patient observations
• Follow infection control protocols and facility safety standards
• Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
• Contribute to a warm, respectful environment that preserves patient dignity

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — Pennsylvania state certification required
• Active CPR/BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire
• Clean background check and required health screenings/immunizations per facility policy
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience a plus, but new CNAs who are eager to learn are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Proficiency taking/recording vital signs and observing patient condition
• Comfortable with routine charting and documentation
• Good interpersonal skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to follow care plans, safety procedures, and infection control practices
• Time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
