Roles & Responsibilities

Provide clear direction and supervision to nursing and support staff to ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality care.
Coordinate assignments and resources across units, making real-time decisions to optimize staffing and patient placement.
Collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer and clinical leaders on administrative decisions and escalation of issues.
Coach and mentor charge nurses and frontline staff, offering constructive feedback to improve performance and patient outcomes.
Manage patient and family concerns professionally, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and compassionately.
Monitor employee productivity and initiate or lead special projects to improve workflows and operational efficiency.
Oversee clinical safety practices including ventilator-supported patients, invasive lines, chest tubes, and post-operative care.

Qualifications

Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Montana (required)
Minimum of 3 years' RN hospital experience; recent ICU experience strongly preferred
CPR required; ACLS and PALS required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment
Demonstrated leadership experience in patient flow, resource nurse roles, or nurse supervision
Comfortable managing advanced clinical equipment including multiple IV pumps, A-lines, invasive lines, chest tubes, and ventilator support
Experience caring for patients across the lifespan from infancy to geriatrics

Education

Degree from a Nursing Program

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of advanced nursing principles and post-operative patient care
Skilled in cardiac monitoring and critical care interventions
Excellent leadership, communication, and people skills; able to interact at all levels of the organization
Critical thinking, independent decision-making, and ability to handle a busy, dynamic workload
Ability to organize workflow, delegate tasks, and provide coaching and feedback
Familiarity with basic office equipment and project development
