Shift Type: Primary: Night 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (three nights per week). Option: Rotating 12-hour day/night schedule (assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period), variable weekends. Orientation: Week 1 Monday-Friday days; Week 2 36 hours on-unit with preceptor.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate direct care to adult and geriatric oncology patients
• Administer chemotherapy and monitor patients closely for adverse reactions
• Perform specialized procedures such as brachytherapy support and neobladder care
• Continuously monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias and intervene appropriately
• Maintain central lines, deliver IV therapy and manage blood product administration
• Participate in clinical trials including accurate data collection and documentation
• Implement infection prevention practices and lead efforts to reduce patient falls
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and activate rapid response when needed
• Document assessments and interventions accurately using EPIC and computerized charting

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Minimum 2 years Med Surg/Telemetry nursing experience with at least 1 year of current specialty experience within the last 3 years
• Current Basic Life Support BLS certification
• Demonstrated competency in chemotherapy administration and oncology procedures
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with EPIC or similar electronic charting systems
• Comfort with central line care, feeding tube management, PCA pumps and epidurals
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required
• Basic Life Support BLS certification required
• Oncology certifications such as ONS Chemotherapy preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia identification and management
• Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Brachytherapy and CBI familiarity
• Central line maintenance, IV therapy and blood product administration
• Feeding tube, NG tube and Foley catheter care
• Infection prevention protocols and patient falls mitigation
• Use of EPIC and computerized charting systems
• Experience supporting clinical trials and accurate clinical documentation
• Rapid response team collaboration and emergency cardiac monitoring
