Roles & Responsibilities

• Ensure patient drug therapy needs are met through thoughtful clinical review and intervention
• Manage drug distribution systems including unit dose operations and IV admixtures
• Provide hands-on clinical pharmacy services and technical pharmacy practice on the floor
• Teach and mentor staff, students, and other care team members as part of the pharmacy’s educational mission
• Perform administrative duties that support safe, efficient medication use and compliance
• Lead or participate in pharmacy research projects to improve patient care and practice
• Maintain compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and facility policies
• Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and interdisciplinary teams to support care coordination

Qualifications

• Hospital pharmacy experience required — this role is not retail
• Familiarity with unit dose systems and preparation of IV admixtures
• Strong computer skills and comfort with pharmacy information systems
• Demonstrated ability in both technical and clinical pharmacy practice
• Self-directed, organized, and excellent verbal/written communication skills
• Current pharmacist licensure as required by state (obtain or maintain prior to start)

Education

• Pharmacy degree (PharmD or equivalent) or as required for state licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical pharmacy principles and medication therapy management
• Drug distribution workflows and unit dose operations
• Preparation and oversight of IV admixtures
• Use of pharmacy computer systems and electronic medical records
• Regulatory knowledge related to State and Federal pharmacy practice
• Teaching, mentorship, and ability to contribute to research projects
• Strong interpersonal skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
