Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients rapidly in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting
• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care across a wide range of acute presentations
• Manage and monitor ED holds when patient flow requires extended stays
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate timely care
• Perform and document clinical skills accurately using Trinity Skills Checklist and specialty competency expectations
• Communicate clearly with patients and families to explain care plans and next steps
• Maintain compliance with required screenings, immunizations, and respirator/fit testing

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state verification required)
• Current BLS, PALS, ACLS and TNCC certifications (must be maintained)
• Experience or strong competency in Emergency Nursing, triage, and managing ED holds
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Willingness to complete required health screenings: fit test, respirator evaluation, immunizations (Tdap, COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella), 2-step PPD or IGRA, physical/health statement, and Trinity 10-panel drug screen
• Comfort working rotating night schedules and collaborating in a dynamic ED environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage principles and emergency department workflow
• Rapid assessment and prioritization of critically ill or injured patients
• Managing ED holds and patient flow challenges
• Proficiency with life-support protocols (BLS, ACLS, PALS)
• Strong clinical documentation and communication skills
• Ability to complete and apply Trinity-specific competency testing and checklists
