Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care for emergency department and inpatient hold patients, using acuity-based judgment
• Perform rapid, accurate patient assessments and prioritize care based on changing acuity
• Manage ED and inpatient hold RN ratios while maintaining patient safety and comfort
• Collaborate closely with ED, inpatient teams, and ancillary services to coordinate smooth handoffs
• Document patient care thoroughly and ensure timely communication during transitions
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence
• Adhere to infection control, immunization, and occupational health requirements

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (state-appropriate) — license/certificate verification required
• Demonstrated experience in Emergency Department and inpatient hold nursing or equivalent acute care experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications (required)
• Successful completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Current fit testing and required immunizations/health screenings per facility policy

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing and trauma care principles (TNCC)
• Patient acuity assessment and acuity-based staffing
• ED/inpatient hold ratio management
• Proficient clinical documentation and handoff communication
• Life support skills: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Ability to follow facility-specific competency checklists and protocols
