Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to adult patients in a 16-bed ICU/CCU unit, maintaining appropriate patient ratios (typically 2:1, occasionally 3:1)
• Perform and manage hemodynamic monitoring and titration of therapies to stabilize critically ill patients
• Manage central lines and assist/perform central line and dialysis catheter insertions as required by unit procedures
• Operate and troubleshoot unit equipment including Impella, EKOS, IABP, temporary pacemakers, Artic Sun and GE monitors
• Document patient care accurately and timely in Meditech and communicate changes clearly during handoffs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute patient-centered care plans
• Demonstrate critical thinking and self-motivation to prioritize care in a fast-paced environment
• Participate in float rotations and adapt to varying team compositions and schedules

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license for the state of Kentucky (or eligible for compact licensure)
• Minimum 2 years of recent critical care (ICU/CCU) nursing experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH (PALS listed as a core/secondary skill)
• Comfortable and experienced with central line management and advanced cardiac/hemodynamic support
• Proficient with Meditech documentation system
• Strong critical thinking, self-motivation, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work rotating shifts and float as needed
