Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to pediatric med/surg patients
Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient status, escalating concerns appropriately
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to create and follow care plans
Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
Document patient care clearly and promptly in the medical record
Participate in orientation and training activities to support unit standards and best practices

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact RN privilege
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) highly recommended for pediatric med/surg care
Experience in medical-surgical nursing and caring for pediatric patients preferred
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Current immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings
Excellent communication and teamwork mindset

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

Clinical knowledge of pediatric med/surg conditions and interventions
Medication administration and IV therapy skills
Patient and family education techniques
Electronic medical record documentation
Prioritization and time management in a fast-paced unit
Collaborative care and interdisciplinary communication
