Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Day shift, 8-hour shift (exact start/end times and days to be confirmed with facility)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, helping with ADLs like bathing, grooming, and mobility
Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nurses and care team members
Assist with safe transfers and use of mobility aids to promote independence
Maintain a clean, comfortable environment and follow infection control practices
Document care activities accurately and promptly
Support mealtime and hydration needs, observing dietary guidelines
Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful communication

Qualifications

Current CNA certification in the state of Connecticut (required)
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Current immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
Clean background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing settings is a plus

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
State CNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

Basic nursing care techniques and resident assistance
Infection prevention and proper PPE usage
Safe resident handling and transfer methods
Accurate documentation and charting practices
Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
