Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg pediatric unit
• Assess patients, monitor changes in condition, and implement appropriate interventions
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to develop and update care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Document care thoroughly and maintain accurate medical records
• Actively participate in unit quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) — Missouri licensure or compact license preferred
• Experience or strong interest in Med/Surg and pediatric patient care
• Current BLS certification; pediatric certifications (e.g., PALS) encouraged when applicable
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; compassionate bedside manner

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and pediatric care considerations
• Familiarity with medication administration and safe dosing practices
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to perform patient assessments, interpret data, and escalate concerns
• Effective interpersonal skills for working with families and multidisciplinary teams
