Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients, interpreting complex clinical data to guide care
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage advanced therapies safely and accurately
• Operate and troubleshoot critical care equipment, including ventilators and monitoring systems
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Provide compassionate patient and family education during high-stress situations
• Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record and support continuity of care during shift handoffs

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Louisiana (required)
• ICU experience — demonstrated critical care skills in an acute care setting (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Comfort with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and infusion therapy
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced ICU

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and monitoring
• Ventilator and respiratory support knowledge
• Hemodynamic monitoring and infusion pump management
• Ability to prioritize and triage in high-acuity settings
• Clear communication with patients, families, and the care team
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
