Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide patient-focused respiratory care including ventilator management and airway support
• Perform respiratory assessments, monitor patient status, and adjust treatments accordingly
• Administer aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and chest physiotherapy as ordered
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and therapists to develop and implement care plans
• Accurately document respiratory treatments, patient responses, and equipment settings
• Respond to emergency situations with calm, evidence-based interventions and proper escalation

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license in Georgia or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Credentialed as RRT or CRT preferred
• Current BLS certification required; advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) a plus
• Clinical experience in acute care or hospital settings preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to pass facility onboarding and background checks

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Completion of a CoARC-accredited respiratory therapy program

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with mechanical ventilators and non-invasive ventilation
• Proficiency in arterial blood gas interpretation and ventilator waveform assessment
• Skilled in airway management, oxygen therapy, and nebulized medication delivery
• Comfortable in critical care and step-down respiratory protocols
• Patient assessment, documentation, and prioritization under time-sensitive conditions
• Team-oriented approach with good clinical judgement and problem-solving
