Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
• Perform thorough assessments and create individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Monitor patient condition, recognize changes, and escalate concerns
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Document patient care clearly and promptly in the medical record
• Support unit efficiency and a positive patient experience through teamwork

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Hawaii or eligible to obtain RN licensure in Hawaii
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS preferred or available
• Clinical Med/Surg nursing experience (recent experience preferred)
• Comfortable working 12+ hour shifts and providing hands-on patient care
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Patient assessment, wound care, and post-op care skills
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Critical thinking, prioritization, and time management
• A patient-first mindset and strong interpersonal skills
