Roles & Responsibilities

• Advocate for patients throughout the perioperative experience, ensuring comfort and safety
• Coordinate preoperative preparation and postoperative handoffs with the care team
• Serve as the circulating RN during procedures—manage supplies, equipment, and flow in the operating room
• Communicate clearly with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative staff to support smooth cases
• Document patient care accurately and maintain patient confidentiality
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond professionally to urgent needs

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) credentials and experience functioning in an OR circulator role
• Clinical experience in perioperative nursing, including preoperative and postoperative care
• Comfort with taking on-call responsibilities and responding as needed
• Strong patient advocacy and communication skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, diploma, or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing practices and OR circulation workflows
• Patient advocacy and perioperative patient assessment
• Sterile technique and operating room safety standards
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced surgical setting
• Ability to manage supplies, equipment, and documentation during cases
