Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered care on the medical-surgical unit
Assess patients, monitor clinical status, and intervene appropriately
Administer medications and treatments safely according to protocols
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
Document patient progress and communicate changes clearly to providers and families
Educate patients and caregivers on condition management, discharge planning, and follow-up

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, eligible to practice in Louisiana
Experience or training in Medical-Surgical nursing (Med/Surg) preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications a plus
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills
Ability to work 12-hour shifts and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and standards of care
Proficiency in medication administration and IV therapy basics
Accurate and timely clinical documentation and charting
Effective communication and teamwork across disciplines
Patient education and discharge planning skills
