Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive, high-quality nursing care to adult renal and medical-surgical patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and respond promptly to changes in patient status
• Manage patients with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and post-dialysis needs
• Collaborate closely with nephrologists and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Perform frequent assessments and provide timely interventions in a high-acuity environment
• Float within scope to related Med-Surg areas such as Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and ED boarders

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license required at time of submission
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 3 years of recent Med-Surg and Telemetry experience; renal experience strongly preferred
• Proven ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips
• Epic EMR proficiency required with competency demonstrated at submission
• Ability to pass a competency test on Day 1 (note: failure results in contract termination)
• Demonstrated critical thinking, adaptability, and efficiency in high-volume settings

Knowledge & Skills

• Medical-surgical nursing best practices
• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
• Renal/nephrology care including post-dialysis needs
• Patient assessment and rapid clinical decision making
• Multidisciplinary collaboration and effective communication
• Familiarity with Epic EMR and electronic charting workflows
• Wound care, stroke care, oncology care principles when floating to specialty areas
• Strong critical thinking and adaptability in fast-paced settings
