Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide rapid, compassionate emergency care and prioritize patient safety
• Perform thorough triage assessments and initiate appropriate interventions
• Administer medications, start IVs, and manage acute procedures per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and support staff to coordinate timely care
• Document assessments, interventions and patient status accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and discharge plans
• Respond decisively in high-acuity situations and assist in emergency resuscitations

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligible to obtain state licensure
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS preferred or as required by facility
• Experience in an Emergency Department or high-acuity setting is highly valued
• Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking and ability to prioritize
• Current immunizations and compliance with facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in emergency triage, rapid assessment and acute care interventions
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration and wound care
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) documentation
• Excellent communication, teamwork and crisis-management abilities
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment
