Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate pre-operative nursing care to pediatric patients, ensuring comfort and safety
Conduct thorough pre-op assessments and communicate findings to the surgical team
Prepare patients and families for procedures through clear, age-appropriate education
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative staff to coordinate care
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of pre-op nursing assessments and interventions
Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Massachusetts) required
Experience or demonstrated competency in pre-operative pediatric nursing preferred
Comfortable working with children and communicating effectively with families
Ability to complete orientation and work collaboratively within a perioperative team

Knowledge & Skills

Familiarity with pediatric pre-operative assessment and preparation
Strong patient- and family-centered communication skills
Knowledge of perioperative safety and infection control practices
Ability to document accurately and coordinate care across interdisciplinary teams
Calm, organized approach to fast-paced procedural environments
