Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care with compassion and clinical expertise
• Rapidly assess and triage patients to prioritize care based on urgency
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate patient care
• Monitor patient status, document changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient flow and outcomes
• Maintain a calm, professional presence during high-acuity and high-volume situations

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Hawaii (or compact license if applicable)
• Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or able to obtain
• Experience in Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy abilities
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and adapt to a fast-paced environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment
• Cardiac, respiratory, and trauma management basics
• IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Ability to use electronic medical records and document accurately
• Calm decision-making under pressure and effective multitasking
• Interdisciplinary collaboration and clear clinical communication
