Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to emergency department patients
Triage and assess patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and facility protocols
Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
Monitor patient status and respond to changes with sound clinical judgment
Document care clearly and timely in the electronic health record
Support patient and family education during high-stress ED visits

Qualifications

Active RN license in Louisiana (must be in good standing)
Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
Experience in emergency/ED nursing preferred
Strong assessment, triage, and IV/medication administration skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced environments

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Triage and emergency assessment skills
IV insertion, medication administration, and ACLS protocols
Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients simultaneously
Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
Calm decision-making under pressure and strong prioritization
