Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care with calm, professional judgment
• Perform rapid assessment, triage, and interventions for acute patients
• Administer medications, treatments, and monitor responses safely
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary staff for seamless care
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly
• Educate patients and families with clarity, empathy, and respect
• Support a culture of safety by identifying risks and escalating concerns

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact RN with LA eligibility)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Emergency Department experience preferred; strong clinical assessment skills required
• Comfort with a fast-paced environment and ability to prioritize multiple patients
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and rapid assessment in emergency settings
• Emergency care fundamentals: wound care, IV therapy, meds, airway management
• Clinical decision-making under pressure with strong critical thinking
• Patient/family education and compassionate bedside manner
• Accurate and timely electronic charting and documentation practices
