Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the telemetry unit
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to changes promptly
• Perform thorough assessments and communicate changes to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge needs
• Participate in unit orientation and maintain competency in telemetry protocols

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in the state of practice (state licensure required)
• Telemetry experience or demonstrated competency in cardiac monitoring
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment skills and comfort with cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Willingness to complete orientation and unit-specific training as provided

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred but all RN-educated candidates will be considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Clinical assessment and critical thinking under pressure
• Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
• Electronic health record charting and documentation
• Patient education and discharge planning
• Effective interdisciplinary communication
