Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality Med/Surg nursing care to adult patients with compassion and clinical accuracy
Assess patient condition, plan and implement nursing interventions, and evaluate outcomes
Administer medications and treatments safely, following facility protocols
Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
Document clear, timely, and thorough patient records in the electronic health record
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
Mentor and support teammates to help maintain a positive, patient-centered environment

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in Louisiana or via compact state privileges)
Clinical Med/Surg experience and comfort with acute adult patient populations
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications welcomed
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and time-management skills
Ability to work 12.5-hour shift blocks and adapt to rotating schedules

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

Solid Med/Surg clinical knowledge and patient assessment skills
Medication administration and IV therapy competence
Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
Infection control practices and safe patient handling
Team collaboration, clear communication, and patient advocacy
