Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and triage patients rapidly and accurately in the emergency department
Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to diverse patient populations
Coordinate patient care with physicians, specialty teams, and allied health staff
Monitor patient condition, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses thoroughly and timely
Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and ED workflow optimization
Provide patient and family education with compassion and clear communication

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligibility to obtain one
Experience working in an Emergency Department (ED/ER) preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred or encouraged
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and triage skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in emergency nursing assessments and prioritization
Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration, and basic procedures
Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
Ability to document accurately in electronic medical records
Calm under pressure with strong decision-making abilities
