Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and rapidly assess patients presenting to the emergency department
• Provide direct patient care and interventions appropriate to ED presentation
• Stabilize acutely ill or injured patients and coordinate timely transfers when needed
• Administer medications and treatments per hospital policy and provider orders
• Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the ED team to deliver high-quality care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient status accurately and timely
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Participate in unit processes to support patient flow, safety, and quality improvement

Qualifications

• Active RN license in New Hampshire or compact RN license (must be eligible to practice in NH)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or required based on unit policy
• Previous emergency department experience or strong emergency nursing background preferred
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with strong critical thinking and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• Cardiac monitoring and basic ECG interpretation
• IV placement, medication administration, and emergency interventions
• Strong documentation practices and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Ability to work well under pressure and in multidisciplinary teams
• Patient/family education and discharge planning
