Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients in the ED
Rapidly assess and triage patients to prioritize treatment and resources
Administer medications, perform procedures, and monitor patient responses
Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary team members
Document patient care and clinical findings accurately and timely
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

Current RN license in the state of Louisiana (or compact/multistate where applicable)
BLS required; ACLS and PALS highly desirable or required per facility policy
Emergency Department experience preferred
Strong critical thinking and ability to perform in high-acuity settings
Current immunizations and any facility-required health screenings

Education

ADN or BSN in Nursing (BSN preferred where available)

Knowledge & Skills

Triage and emergency assessment skills
IV placement, medication administration, and basic ED procedures
Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients safely
Clear clinical documentation and electronic charting proficiency
Excellent teamwork, communication, and crisis management abilities
