Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality Med/Surg nursing care tailored to pediatric patients
• Assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments safely, documenting care accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Participate actively in orientation and ongoing training to maintain best practices
• Educate patients and families, advocate for patient needs, and support family-centered care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure adherence to facility policies

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for California (or compact/eligible as applicable)
• Experience or comfort working in Med/Surg and pediatric nursing settings preferred
• Current BLS required; PALS and ACLS preferred or encouraged where applicable
• Comfort with electronic health record documentation and clinical workflows
• Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid clinical assessment and triage skills for Med/Surg and pediatric patients
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Familiarity with pediatric care principles and family-centered approaches
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced unit
• Clear communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues
