Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM / 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), every 3rd weekend and holiday

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population in both Med Surg and Emergency settings
Admit, discharge, and transfer patients with efficiency and compassion
Titrate medications and manage drips including insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, and levophed
Start IVs, manage PICC/Port lines, and perform EKG interpretation
Participate actively in code situations including cardiorespiratory, stroke, and sepsis response
Respond to trauma cases and coordinate with flight transport as needed
Float between Med Surg and ER departments to ensure seamless patient care

Qualifications

Active RN license in Minnesota
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
Ability to work independently with minimal staffing
Comfortable communicating directly with hospitalists and other providers
Flexibility to work every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation

Knowledge & Skills

Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
Expertise in emergency response and code management
Proficiency in IV start, medication titration, and PICC/Port management
Knowledge of EMTALA regulations and Meditech EMR
Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
